Ghansoli sits directly between our press at Koparkhairane and the Airoli-Rabale industrial belt, and it carries a bit of both worlds: MIDC units and engineering workshops on one side, IT and corporate parks along the highway, and a growing residential and retail base in the sectors.

The print that comes out of it is a mix of functional industrial work - labels, cartons, technical literature, site signage - and corporate work from the offices.

Engineering and manufacturing units here need product and rating labels, cartons and printed outers, technical manuals and datasheets, test certificates, and site and safety signage.

Rating labels want polyester or metallised polyester, sub-surface printed, so the image sits under the face and survives years of being wiped down. Product labels want a face and adhesive matched to the container and the storage rather than to whatever is cheapest.

Cartons want board and flute chosen for the stack and the transit, and a physical dummy folded and filled before any run - that is where a carton reveals its problems, not on a screen.

Test certificates and warranty cards need controlled numbering, which is variable-data digital work and cheap to do properly.

The corporate side wants the ordinary set: profiles, stationery, folders, presentation documents, reception and interior branding, event material and gifting.

Company profiles are worth more attention than they usually get. Most carry photographs that are years old and figures that have moved. Treating a profile as a living document - a retained master and a genuine photography set - turns it from a periodic rebuild into an annual edit.

Interior and reception branding is the first thing a visitor sees, and in leased space removable adhesives are worth specifying at the start rather than discovering at the end of a lease.

Design and identity work carries no minimum, so consistency is cheap to fix properly rather than gradually.

For industrial labels: polyester and metallised polyester sub-surface printed for rating labels, synthetic faces with matched adhesives for product labels, coated paper only where the pack is dry and short-lived.

For cartons: folding box board or duplex at the weight the stack requires, corrugated outers with printed top-sheets where transit is long.

For corporate documents: coated art paper with a matt laminated cover on anything kept, uncoated with weight where the piece is written on.

For signage: ACP with a printed vinyl face outdoors, acrylic and cast vinyl indoors, chosen against the surface and how often it is cleaned.

Digital for short runs, many-SKU ranges, and anything numbered or personalised - which covers most technical documentation and certificates.

Offset for labels and cartons at volume, catalogues, and anything where a colour has to be held exactly across items.

Large format for signage, site boards and interior branding.

Adhesion tested on the real substrate rather than on a clean sample. Abrasion checked for anything that will be wiped down. Scannability checked with the kind of reader that will actually be used.

For cartons, a folded and filled sample checked for erection, flap fit and stacking before a run rather than after.

For documentation, content checked against the approved source, part numbers verified rather than assumed, and version marks present on the piece.

A retained physical sample from every approved run is kept, so a reorder is matched against the piece rather than a memory of it.

Material and run length dominate on industrial work; die tooling is a one-off that amortises across reorders and is worth knowing about before a shape is decided.

Set-up dominates on short corporate runs, which is why they go digital.

Finishing - lamination, spot UV, die-cutting, binding - is where two quotes for apparently the same job most often differ, so ours itemises it.

The largest avoidable cost is a rejected run: a label that lifts, a carton that will not erect, a datasheet with a wrong figure. Each costs several times the printing.
