The technology parks want corporate and employer-facing work: profiles and capability documents, pitch material, onboarding and welcome kits, internal event branding, recognition material, interior branding and gifting.

Onboarding kits have a disproportionate effect for what they cost, and personalisation per joiner is nearly free on digital.

Internal events happen often enough here that a reusable core - frames, roll-up mechanisms, modular backdrops - with printed skins beats one-off production, and setup gets faster because it is the same kit each time.

Interior branding is measured on site, because floor plates have services, switches and sight-lines that a plan does not show, and in leased space removable adhesives matter.

Manufacturers here accumulate a documentation set that, after a few years, usually stops being a set: three versions of the same datasheet in circulation, a manual referencing a part number that changed, and nobody able to say which file is current.

The fix is dull and effective. One master per document, a version and date printed on the piece, reprints as revisions against the current approved copy, and the masters held in one place.

Physical requirements follow the use: a manual used next to a machine wants a stock that survives oil and hands and a binding that lies flat; a datasheet for a customer's QC department wants accuracy above everything.

It costs a day to set up and saves considerably more in the second year.

For labels: polyester and metallised polyester sub-surface printed for equipment; synthetic PP or polyester with matched adhesives for packs; thermal-transfer rather than direct-thermal for anything that must last in a warehouse.

For cartons: board grade and flute for the stack, corrugated outers with printed top-sheets for transit and identification.

For documentation: a stock that survives handling, with a binding chosen for how the document is actually used.

For corporate work and interiors: coated art paper with lamination on anything kept; cast vinyl, acrylic and ACP for signage, chosen against the surface and the cleaning regime.

Offset for labels and cartons at volume - the quantities here are frequently large enough that set-up becomes negligible and material dominates.

Digital for many-SKU ranges in modest quantities, for numbered and personalised work, and for short-run corporate documents.

Large format and fabrication for signage, interiors and event sets.

At high volume, small specification decisions matter more than the rate: a die that nests better, a size that fits the sheet without offcut, a board grade that is right rather than generous.

First sheets scanned rather than looked at, with the kind of reader that will actually be used. Adhesion checked on the real substrate. Cartons checked folded and stacked rather than flat.

For very large runs, a pilot batch on the exact specification, run through the real process, is cheap insurance - it catches the problems that only appear in a real facility with fifty thousand pieces already made.

Retained physical samples from every approved run, so a reorder matches the piece.
